We are so glad we had the opportunity to go and play this newly opened game. We were invited to explore the case of missing archeaologist Professor Dunstan.
The arrival into this industrial/business/retail complex just has to be ignored because once you enter, the owner Alex, will welcome you warmly and brief you on your important mission.
Entering the room was an absolute wonder. It completely embraced us all in the office of archaeologist Professor Dunstan, and we were totally on board with helping the absent professor solve the riddle of the missing statue.
To say the room is beautifully done is an understatement. With such authenticity, we all found ourselves picking things up and exclaiming “oohs” and “ahhs” at the way it was all put together. I would like to think players are going to enter and treat this room with respect, but if that doesn’t prove the case, the owner has made back-ups of these beautiful objects just in case.
There’s a unique element to this room – it can be adjusted for different difficulty levels. So when we had arrived, Alex asked what level we wanted to try. We pushed the boat out and went all in – “set it up for your most difficult we said”. Oh hummm…..
Now I have to tell you, that this room is our FIRST EVER FAIL as a team. I also have to say, we came out happy and smiling. The puzzles in the room are exceptionally clever and challenging – obviously too clever for us 😊
Great puzzle design, totally absorbing and intriguing, lots of variety and aspects for all of us to get involved with. But most of all – they are all presented with beautiful hand-made props and mechanisms on original furnishings that have been lovingly adapted and built for purpose. It was totally delicious.
This is an enthusiasts room. You will appreciate it and enjoy it, and feel like it was absolutely well worth the visit. The adjustable difficulty means that all types of groups can enjoy this room, including the young. There was a group of 11 year olds on the fun leader board (yes, we are indeed embarrassed!).
On Co-Decode’s website they say “Step into one of our game rooms and we will transport you to a world of our creation.” And it absolutely did. They are currently designing and planning their next room, and we will be straight down there for it. Can’t wait.
The only thing that could possibly have improved this experience was an entry into a location that ‘psyched’ you up for the experience. But, as I say, just totally ignore and forgive its location, because the game itself will totally delight you.
Indulge yourself - the room will feed you with wonder
